MICROFOREST ON EDGEWARE ROAD

The central character of this story is a family, one meant to grow. Micro forests above our roads,
transported by the tentacles of the Jansens linkage.

It is often misunderstood what being “green” or environmentally friendly truly means. Being green is living in a sustainable way and ensuring that our activities as an individual or community reflect our planetary resource limits. London is NOT green. The green surface areas currently present are by no means capturing pollutants emitted by the city.

Edgware Road ranks among the streets with the highest emission rates, and is in urgent need of a
forest- a substantial one. Ecosystems will be implemented on site, a microforest of moss attracts and absorbs positively charged pollutants and so acts as Edgware Road’s Air Filter. At its heart, this project imagines a family - one designed to expand and multiply across the city.
